According to industry experts, Canada is experiencing a massive job shortage across the country. While many of these jobs are skilled, there are significant jobs in certain unskilled sectors, such as 38,000 in construction, 45,900 in hospitality and 50,000 in retail, which has prompted the government to apply for unskilled jobs in Canada. The best part is Canada’s excellent minimum wage, with an average unskilled worker’s salary in excess of $20,000 a year.
With plans by the Canadian government to attract over a million immigrants to their working environments, these jobs are ideal for you as they are not filled by locals. As an unskilled/semi-skilled worker, one of the best ways to apply for a Provincial Nominee Program is through Express Entry, which works with the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Trade Program and the Canadian Experience Class, all of which require a qualification.
What is the Provincial Nominee Program?
Provincial Nominations are for candidates who wish to live and work in a particular province of Canada. There are certain streams for which you can apply under each program (if you meet the criteria) that start the process toward nomination by that province. After the nomination, you can apply for permanent residence.
Alternatively, you can apply for a category that falls under the Express Entry System or simply goes directly into that pool. If you first apply via Express Entry, you must either send an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the province you have selected or wait for it to send you a Notification of Interest (NOI), depending on how that province works. If you succeed, you will be asked to submit a separate application for a nomination. If you receive the nomination, you will receive 600 points for your profile in the Express Entry Pool, which will evaluate you using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). However, no Fast Track system is used for the programs listed here.
