The financial value of your Karen McKellin International Leader of Tomorrow Award is proportionate to your financial need which is determined by adding up your tuition fees and living expenses. Financial need is determined by adding tuition and living expenses together and subtracting the financial contribution you and your family can make each year. A standard means test is based on the financial information provided by you and your family.
Your scholarship may be extended for up to three additional years of study or until graduation – whichever comes first – provided you achieve satisfactory academic performance in your faculty, continue to demonstrate financial need and maintain your Canadian study permit (student visa).
Eligibility:
To be considered for the International Leader of Tomorrow Award by Karen McKellin:
– You are required to be an international student who will be pursuing studies in Canada on a Canadian Study Permit.
– You must be attending UBC from an accredited secondary school, college or other university.
– You must apply for your first undergraduate degree.
– You must meet UBC’s admission requirements, including general and program-specific requirements and the English Language Admission Standard.
– You must demonstrate above-average academic achievement (at least an A average or equivalent).
– You must prove financial need that would otherwise prevent you from completing a degree at UBC.
Application Instructions:
Submit your scholarship application and complete the online application for admission to UBC by January 5, 2021. You must meet the UBC English Language Admission Requirement by January 31, 2021.
